Welcome to the NYC Smart City Testbed Program
The NYC Smart City Testbed Program is inspiring innovation within City government by streamlining and accelerating the citywide process for piloting emerging technologies. From NYC’s skyline to waterfronts, any public asset can now serve as a test site for technological innovations that could one day be deployed across more than 55 city agencies and entities.
Given the diverse challenges City agencies face and the far-ranging goals they seek to achieve, the Testbed Program welcomes all urban innovation solutions that can improve operations, service delivery and efficiency, close the digital divide, and enhance the social impact in communities.

Applications
Applications for the Testbed program are accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed monthly.
Selected participants will have access to New York City’s assets, technical support, partnership support, and administrative guidance to move through the procurement, legal, and/or other regulatory processes.
Each Testbed demonstration will last six to nine months with two pilots launching per quarter, starting in the Fall of 2023. Organizations should be prepared to self-fund their pilot costs.
